DTU is the Technical University of Denmark. The participating department is DTU Fotonik (Photonics Engineering Department) whose research and education activities focus on photonics technologies for a wide range of applications covering communications, sensing, energy and bio-medical. About 220 researchers are employed at DTU Fotonik, including about 90 PhD students.
The participating group is the Metro-Access and Short Range Communication Systems, primarily concerned with generation, transmission and detection techniques for communications by optical fibers, wireless, free-space optics and their converged end-to-end communication path. The Metro-Access group’s application scenarios considered span from IoT, sensing, data centers, Tactile Internet, and metro-to-end-user communications.
