The Terahertz Systems Technology Group is led by Prof. Sascha Preu and focuses on the development of active Terahertz components. This includes telecom-wavelength compatible n-i-pn-i-p superlattice photomixer sources, rare earth doped photoconductors and large area emitters. A further topic covers ultrafast field effect transistor rectifiers. With efficient photonic and electronic THz sources and detectors at hand, we further develop Terahertz systems tailored to important applications such as spectroscopy and sample characterization. One such system is targeted for within CELTA: a free space hybrid opto-electronic spectrum analyzer for the lower THz range with large dynamic range.
